Beloit School Security Officers Files Complaint Claiming Retaliation
BELOIT WI Jan 14 2020– A School District of Beloit security officer has accused three district officials of subjecting him to retaliation, harassment and improper disciplinary action after he re-posted a Facebook link about a teacher support rally on the first day of school.
The Beloit Daily News has obtained a complaint, sent to all school board members on Jan. 3, that alleges the security officer was taken to task by two administrative officials about the posting on Aug. 20.
During the meeting, the officer alleges he was subjected to harassment and humiliation about his educational attainment, position, goals and choice of putting his family first while discussing a job the security officer had applied to fill.
The security officer alleged that he then was told he would no longer be allowed to act as a non-violent crisis intervention trainer.
On Nov. 6, 2019, the security officer alleged being accused of inappropriately entering in time off which the officer said had been approved earlier by supervisors.
The security officer said he was then interviewed on whether he recorded a teachers meeting at which he was not in attendance.
Board of Education President Pamela Charles confirmed a formal complaint was received from an employee and is under investigation.
