Birmingham Alabama security officer captures would-be bank robber
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. April 19 2018
Police say a security officer thwarted a would-be bank robber in downtown Birmingham Wednesday morning.
According to Birmingham police, a 37-year-old man allegedly tried to rob Synovus First Commercial Bank on Richard Arrington Jr. Boulevard.
But the bank had an armed security officer who immediately intervened and detained the suspect until officers arrived to take him into custody.
The suspect’s name is being withheld at this time until formal charges are filed.
No one was injured.
