Birmingham man subdued after trying to disarm bank security officer
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. April 10 2018 — Birmingham Police say a man is under arrest after trying to disarm a security officer at America’s First Federal Credit Union around 11 a.m. Monday.
Police say that the security guard fought with the man and a customer helped to hold the man down until they arrived on the scene at 4th Avenue North.
Two witnesses inside the bank said that the suspect brought a fake gun inside but was immediately taken down by security.
FBI also responded to the scene.
“No one was injured and at no time did the security officer lose control of his holstered gun,” Lt. Peter Williston said.
