Blue Note Arcade security officer confronts armed man
Summerfield FL May 14 2019
A Marion County sheriff’s deputy was called to the Blue Note Arcade in Summerfield on Thursday after a report of a man waving a firearm around in the parking lot.
When the deputy arrived at the gaming casino, he spoke with a security guard who told him that he had confronted a man who was lying outside the business.
He said they got into an argument and the man told him there was “about to be a gunfight” as he started waving a black revolver in the air while standing in the parking lot, a sheriff’s office report states.
The security guard said he drew his firearm and the man dropped his revolver and ran south on U.S. Hwy. 441. He said he inspected the man’s weapon and it was missing the chamber and was inoperative. And he said he didn’t want to press charges but did want the man trespassed from the property if he returned, the report says.
The deputy told the security guard to call back if the man returned and took the revolver, which had the serial number filed off of it, as well as the make, model and caliber. He then placed the weapon into evidence at the sheriff’s South Multi-District Office in The Villages for destruction, the report says.
