Body found on University of Massachusetts Amherst campus

The death of a person on the University of Massachusetts Amherst campus is under investigation.
The body of an adult male was found in the vicinity of McGuirk Alumni Stadium in the late hours of Wednesday by UMass police, campus spokesperson Mary Dettloff said.
“In addition to UMass Police, the Amherst Fire Department, Hadley Fire Department, area hazardous materials units and the Massachusetts State Police were on the scene,” Dettloff said.
“There is no ongoing public safety concern,” Dettloff said.
The man’s name or connection to campus has not been publicly disclosed at this time.
