Body of Security Officer Recovered From River
Sacramento CA

The body of a private security officer who crashed his patrol vehicle into the El Dorado river has been recovered according to the sheriff’s office.
A report of an accident late Tuesday night sent rescue teams to the area but searchers did not find the truck or the driver.
Due to inclement weather, the search was called off for the night and resumed Wednesday morning.
The body of 33-year-old Brent Jared Cluff was pulled from the river near the SMUD powerhouse on Peavine Ridge Road, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies responded to the original call around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday from a private security officer who said a security vehicle was in the water.
Deputies said that the submerged vehicle was not found until 7:41 a.m. Wednesday.
Cluff was a private security officer from Sacramento under contract with SMUD and is not an employee with the company, officials said.
California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
