Bridgeport man charged with threatening DCF security guard with gun
Bridgeport CT March 19 2023 A 26-year-old city man was arrested after allegedly threatening a state Department of Children and Families security officer with a stolen gun Friday afternoon, police said.
Bridgeport police said they were called to DCF’s office at 100 Fairfield Ave. for a report of a man smoking marijuana in the building and then threatening a security officer with a gun after he was ordered to leave.
The suspect, Earl Livingston Williams, of Bridgeport, was located at the corner of Main Street and John Street several minutes later, police said. Officers found Williams in possession of what turned out to be a stolen gun and took him into custody, police said.
Williams, a convicted felon who is on probation, was charged with second-degree threatening, criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, illegal transfer or sale of a pistol, three-degree criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct, police said. His bond was set at $100,000, according to police.
