Bridgeport woman charged with assaulting mall security officers
TRUMBULL, CT June 28 2019— A Bridgeport woman was arrested after she threw a cup of soda at a security guard at the Trumbull mall June 18, according to police.
Brenda Mendez, 47, got into an argument with a janitor in the mall food court over nearby cleaning, police said. Security was called and Mendez was asked to leave the mall.
She argued with security officers in the mall parking lot and threw a cup of soda at one of the guards, police said. She also threw a water bottle at another guard. The incident was captured on video.
Mendez was charged with third-degree assault and breach of peace.
