Brinks armored truck pepper sprayed and robbed outside Birmingham bank
Birmingham AL December 26 2018 An investigation is underway after an early-morning robbery of a Brinks armored truck in east Birmingham.
The holdup happened at 8:20 a.m. at the BBVA Compass stand-alone ATM in the 9200 block of Parkway East.
According to Birmingham police, the unknown suspect used a chemical spray on the delivery driver. The driver was treated on the scene by Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service medics.
Police said the suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash from the Brinks truck. They have a possible description of the suspect’s vehicle and are working to find leads on the assailant. A description has not yet been publicly released.
