Broadway at the Beach security assaulted-man arrested
Myrtle Beach SC June 12 2017 Police were called to Broadway at the Beach by security officers, who said they pepper-sprayed a “disorderly” crowd that had started fighting around 12:30 a.m., according to an investigation report.
One security guard, who is listed as a victim in the report, told police that she was pushed to the ground by a man in the crowd after she “ran over to assist other security guards.” Multiple security guards, including the victim, began using their pepper spray after a fight started in the group, the report stated.
Surveillance footage showed the group walking toward the parking lot when a couple of people inside the crowd started to fight and then stopped, according to the report. The fight had ended when security surrounded the crowd and started spraying, police said.
The victim sprayed a man and his girlfriend in the back as they were walking away before the man turned around and pushed her, according to the report.
The man, identified as 23-year-old Jeziel Gonzales-Cervantes was arrested and charged with simple assault.
