Brooklyn Sports Bar and Lounge manager, security guard charged with drugs violations
Wilkes-Barre, PA November 21 2018 — Four employees of a nightclub face criminal charges after a raid took place early Sunday morning that resulted in the seizure of drugs and guns.
A raid culminating from a seven month long investigation by state police Bureau of Liquor Control members, occurred at 3:15 a.m. at the Brooklyn Sports Bar and Lounge, located at 1266 Sans Souci Pkwy.
According to a release from state police:
Officers found the club selling alcohol at prohibited hours and allowed the open use of controlled substance.
Bar manager Akiem Rollocks, 31, of Mount Pocono, was found in possession with and using controlled substances at the bar, the release mentions.
Authorities said bar security guard Monika Murphy, 28, of Wilkes-Barre, was also in possession of a controlled substance.
They were charged with possession of a controlled substance while employed at a bar and misdemeanor counts of selling alcohol at prohibited hours.
Two other bartenders were facing the same misdemeanor charges, police said, but their names were not released.
Authorities recovered a loaded Glock handgun and a loaded 12-gauge shotgun from the bar during the raid. They also seized $1,311 that they believe was the result of illegal alcohol sales from a large amount of alcohol sold during prohibited hours.
