Buffalo security guard will not be charged for firing weapon after car crashes into bar
BUFFALO, N.Y. October 4 2019 A Bottoms Up security guard– who fired one shot when a disgruntled patron drove a vehicle into the bar will not be charged.
The incident happened in August. 24-year-old Najeeb Jackson is accused of driving his car into the bar after the bar said he was denied entry earlier that night. It’s unclear why he wasn’t allowed into the bar.
A security guard did fire one shot. Nobody was shot.
According to an attorney representing Bottoms Up, the security guard does have a license to carry a firearm and said his shot appears justified. “From the video I’ve seen, he was struck by the video and reacted because he thought lives were going to be in danger.”
In an interview with 7 Eyewitness News, Erie County District Attorney John Flynn said he was looking into the incident.
“Just because the Buffalo PD decided not to arrest the security guard doesn’t mean I’m not looking into it.” The District Attorney’s Office decided not to press charges against the security.
