Turlock California March 3 2023
A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a bar security guard in downtown Turlock in January.
Alejandro Rosales Ortuno was arrested Wednesday at a residence in Los Banos, Turlock police said. He is accused of killing Robert Morgan, from Turlock.
The Turlock Police Department has said they responded to a call around 1:38 a.m. on Jan. 15 and found Morgan lying on the ground after suffering multiple gunshot wounds behind Grand Cru and The Udder Place, two bars located on West Main Street in Turlock.
Morgan was a security guard at Grand Cru and was assisting his co-workers with an altercation at the bar, although he was not working at the time, police said.
Police said that while in an altercation with another man, he was shot by someone who got out of a dark-colored sedan and then left the scene immediately after.
As part of the homicide investigation, police said they searched two homes in Los Banos.
Ortuno was booked at the Stanislaus County Jail on a no-bail homicide warrant.
