California man suspected of impersonating a police officer

San Luis Obispo police arrested a man suspected of impersonating a police officer.
At approximately 11:15 a.m. Friday, police say they received a report from a driver who believed the person in the vehicle behind him was pretending to be a police officer and trying to pull him over.
Police stopped the suspect vehicle in the area of Tank Farm Rd. and Broad St. and arrested the driver, identified as 63-year-old Edward Hermosillo of San Luis Obispo, on suspicion of impersonating a peace officer.
They say he was driving a black Dodge Charger that had a police-style push bumper and lighting inset in the grill, which made the car look like a police vehicle.
Police say Hermosillo’s vehicle was equipped to appear like a police car.
Police say they also found Hermosillo to be in possession of two collapsible batons, which are illegal. They say officers found a police-style tactical vest and holster in his car, as well.
Investigators say there have been other instances like this involving Hermosillo in other parts of the county, and they’re asking anyone who believes they may have been a victim to contact the San Luis Obispo Police Department at (805) 781-7312.
