California marijuana dispensary security officer shot
Whittier CA Jan 10 2018 An armed man shot and wounded a security guard at a marijuana dispensary in Bassett late Monday night.
Sgt. David Cortinas of the sheriff’s Industry station said two men fled after the shooting without taking anything. The incident occurred in the 100 block of 6th Avenue at 11:32 p.m.
Cortinas said he wasn’t sure if the duo tried to rob the business, which he called “Cush Doctor.” According to THCSpots, which lists local dispensary locations online, the business name is Kush Doctor Inc.
A man entered the showroom Monday night, but did not buy anything, according to Cortinas. The same man returned later accompanied by another person.
Cortinas said the man pulled out a handgun and fired once at the security guard. He said the 26-year-old guard was shot in the shoulder. Then the two culprits fled.
The wounded guard was taken to Los Angeles County USC Medical Center. Cortinas did not know the victim’s current condition.
No one answered the phone listed as a contact number for Kush Doctor.
