Calverton Park police officer working security shot at Ferguson Wal-Mart
FERGUSON, Mo. Feb 18 2020 An incident at a Missouri Walmart left an off-duty police officer working a second job as a security guard shot.
Police say that officer is in stable condition at a local hospital.
St. Louis County Police say the 35-year-old Calverton Park officer was wounded about 7:15 Sunday night at the Wal-Mart on West Florissant and transported to a hospital.
We’re told the officer confronted the suspected shoplifter near the exit door, and that’s when he was shot several times.
The suspect fled the scene quickly afterward.
The officer was taken to a St. Louis hospital for treatment.
Police have not released any further details about the suspect.
