CaroMont Regional Medical Center security officer said man pointed gun at him
GASTON COUNTY, N.C. Aug 7 2018– A Gaston County hospital was placed on lockdown after a subject pointed a gun at a hospital security officer.
Officers received calls around 9:30 Monday morning after a security guard was driving near CaroMont Regional Medical Center when he saw someone point what appeared to be a gun at him.
The security officer called police because it was near the hospital.
Officers responded and searched the area but police say they have not found the person and are not sure if it was a gun.
The hospital increased security as a pre-caution.
Gastonia Police and CaroMount Security are still investigating.
