Carson City casino security help police nab wanted man
CARSON CITY, Nev. Feb 7 2020 A Carson City man wanted for battering a woman then shooting his neighbor is now in custody.
Logan Odaye, 22, was booked Wednesday on felony charges of robbery with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon and first degree kidnapping as well as a gross misdemeanor count of domestic battery, the Carson City Sheriff’s Office said. He is also wanted on warrants out of Carson City and Douglas County.
On Tuesday at approximately 7 p.m., deputies responded to a south Carson shopping center and then into Douglas County on the report that a woman had been robbed and battered at gunpoint by Odaye.
The victim said Odaye lured her to the Carson Indian Colony address, battered her and forced her to a shopping center to draw cash from a teller machine, where he battered her again. While investigating the incident, the sheriff’s office learned at about 10:30 p.m. that a resident of the Carson Colony had been shot twice with a shotgun. The shooting victim was taken Renown Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Security guards identified Odaye at the The Max Casino on South Curry Street in downtown Carson City on Wednesday afternoon. He had rented a room on the second floor, the sheriff’s office said. Peace officers from several agencies converged on the casino. The second floor was evacuated and peace officers negotiated with Odaye to surrender. Odaye was taken into custody without incident.
