Carson City deputies charge man with groping casino security officer

Carson City deputies arrested a 36-year-old Silver Springs man for allegedly groping a security guard and disturbing the peace.
Early Friday morning, deputies were dispatched to a hotel-casino around 2 a.m. on report of an intoxicated man causing a disturbance.
Upon arrival, deputies spoke with a manager, who explained that the man was highly intoxicated, and security had received numerous complaints about being disturbed by him.
He also told deputies that the man had groped a security officer while they were dealing with the man. The security officer told deputies the man had grabbed her butt and squeezed it and wished to press charges.
Deputies asked where the man was, and security told them he was back by his room. As deputies approached the room, they could hear the man “screaming at the top of his lungs.”
Deputies detained the man, who was extremely intoxicated and highly uncooperative. When they told him he was under arrest, he became even more uncooperative, according to the arrest report.
He was transported to the jail and booked on one count of open and gross lewdness, a gross misdemeanor, and disturbing the peace, a misdemeanor.
Earlier in the night, deputies were dispatched to the same hotel-casino on report of an unwanted subject causing a disturbance.
Deputies arrived on scene and security pointed out a man later identified as On Tran.
Tran was sitting in a wheelchair near the snack bar area and had been asking patrons of the bowling alley for change. Security stated Tran also kept wandering through out the bowling alley “bothering patrons.”
Security told deputies they wanted Tran permanently trespassed.
Deputies ran a wants and warrants check and determined there was a warrant out for Tran’s arrest as a sex offender failing to register during the annual verification process as dictated by the state sex offender unit.
Tran was taken into custody without issue and booked on felony Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.
He was given no bail.
