Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center security officer assaulted with bear spray
Carson City NV Sept 8 2021 At 4:57 a.m., deputies responded to a local hospital after a report that a security officer has been assaulted.
Shawn Smith, 29, was arrested on a charge of battery with a deadly weapon at the Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center.
The arrest report says the victim was a hospital security guard who was sprayed with bear mace.
Smith was arrested after a traffic stop on Highway 50.
He described the incident as self-defense saying he sprayed the guard after being cussed at and seeing the guard reach for something on his belt.
Bail was set at $30,000.
