Cash-in-Transit security officer attacked during robbery

A security guard was attacked this afternoon while making a cash delivery at a bank in Garston.
Four masked robbers approached the man at around 3.45pm at the TSB Bank, in Speke Road.
Police said one of the men punched the guard, before the gang stole the cash box and fled the scene in a grey Peugeot.
One of the robbers is described as wearing a grey and black jacket, with a hood up and a black facial mask.
Another is described as wearing black clothing, a black facial covering, black and yellow gloves and black trainers with a white Nike tick.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “We are appealing for information following the robbery of a security officer making a cash delivery in Garston today (Thursday, 2 August 2018).
“At around 3.45pm, a security guard was making a cash delivery at TSB Bank on Speke Road when four men approached him. One of the men punched the security guard before they made off with a cash box in a grey car.
“The guard was not injured but left very shaken by the incident.”
