Central Ark. woman honored for saving security guard
LITTLE ROCK, Ark June 30 2017 Health complications for one central Arkansas woman didn’t turn deadly, thanks to a hero who saved her life.
Orean Purifoy, a guard at the Jesse Powell tower housing project, fell asleep in her car one night after having both a stroke and a heart attack. Three hours later, local resident Shirley Mcfee found her slouched over in the vehicle with the car running and got help.
Purifoy said this isn’t the first time she’s had a health incident like this one, but she’s just glad that this particular instance didn’t bring her last breath.
“I had a prior incident, but nothing like this. But this instance I needed some help and the help came through,” said Purifoy.
Mcfee was honored Wednesday by Quality Security and the Little Rock Police Department in front of the complex. As for Purifoy, she said she feels great now and is making the most of her time by simply enjoying life.
