Chattanooga TN January 16th, 2024
Chattanooga police say a man who is accused of firing a gun at a security guard at a local apartment complex in December of 2023 has been arrested.
It happened at 404 Homes apartments in the 400 block of Tunnel Boulevard.
Police say they were called to the complex on December 30, over a disorder with a weapon.
Police arrived at the scene to find the security guard who told them that 24-year-old Corey La’qua Malik France fired three shots at him after the victim told France to stop banging on apartment doors and waving a gun.
The arrest report says at least one witness confirmed that France shot at the victim and police say three 9mm shell casings were found in the area where France is accused of firing the gun.
Warrants for France’s arrest were issued and he was arrested on January 4, at a home on Ocoee Street.
France is charged with attempted criminal homicide, aggravated assault, possessing a firearm with intent to go armed, reckless endangerment, and vandalism/malicious mischief.
France is being held at the Hamilton County Jail and Detention Center on a $75,000 bond.
He is scheduled to appear in court on January 12.
