Chicago man caused disturbance with security ofifcers at Riverwalk Homes in Joliet
Joliet IL Sept 24 2020 A Chicago man was arrested on charges alleging he made threats toward security guards at Riverwalk Homes in Joliet and indicated he may have a gun on him, police said.
The incident involving Andre Marshall, 26, of the 10000 block of South Yale Avenue occurred June 29, according to a Joliet police news release.
Marshall was not arrested until Monday when he was apprehended on a warrant by the Bedford Park police in Cook County.
At the time of the incident, officers responded to Riverwalk Homes in the 300 block of North Broadway Street in response to a report of an unwanted person, Joliet police said.
When the officers arrived, the were told a man had come to the security guard shack at the apartment complex, police said.
The man began “banging on the windows and making threats towards the on-duty security officers,” police said.
“Officers were advised that the suspect made comments towards the security guards indicating that he may possibly be armed with a gun, however no weapon was observed,” police said.
Officers were unable to locate the man, who was later identified as Marshall by the detectives who investigated the case, police said.
On Aug. 10, Judge Sarah Jones signed a warrant for Marshall’s arrest that carried a $20,000 bond.
Marshall has been charged with felony intimidation, misdemeanor aggravated assault and misdemeanor disorderly conduct, court records show.
Marshall remains in the Will County jail as of Tuesday afternoon.
