Chicago Police Detective Found Dead From Possible Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound
CHICAGO IL March 12 2019 — An off-duty Chicago police detective was found dead Sunday from a possible self-inflicted gunshot wound at his Near West Side home, according to police.
The Area South detective, identified as Eric Concialdi, 44, was found in the 1500 block of West Madison Street, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. The officer was discovered by another CPD officer, said police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi.
If ruled a suicide, it will be the sixth suicide of an officer since last summer, bringing renewed attention to the Police Department’s mental health services.
