Chicopee police arrest 3 suspects after theft off power tools from Home Depot
CHICOPEE MA Sept 4 2019Ā Ā ā Police arrested three suspects Saturday after an officer allegedly saw two of them run out the Home Depot with power tools.
The incident began about 9:45 a.m. when Sgt. Mike Klaus, on patrol near the Memorial Drive store, saw the two suspects running out, Michael Wilk, public information officer for the department said.
The suspects got into a motor vehicle and sped off.
Other units responded and stopped the vehicle. Officer Gerald Nelson, who works that district, recognized two of the suspects from other shoplifting incidents, Wilk said.
Police determined the suspects stole over $900 worth of power tools. An employee attempted to stop the theft but the suspects pushed past her.
All three suspects are homeless. Franciso Gonzalez Jr., 40, was charged with shoplifting, third offense; Karen LeBlanc, 34, was charged with shoplifting, second offense and driving with a suspended license; Taryn Finnegan, 26, was charged with shoplifting.
