Church Security Officer Stops Armed Man
Jackson MS Aug 2 2023 A 38-year-old man is charged with making a terroristic threat during an intramural basketball game at First Baptist Church in Jackson.
According to capitol police, Jeffery Webb Jr. had allegedly gotten into a verbal altercation threatening to shoot several people who were playing basketball.
According to witnesses, after Webb made the threats, Webb allegedly went to his vehicle, grabbed his backpack, and was making his entry back into the building when an on-duty security guard stopped him.
Officers said when they arrived on scene, they found Webb near his vehicle. Officers said they also discovered Webb was in possession of a 9mm handgun.
Webb was arrested on scene with no incident.
