Cleveland man charged in scuffle with nightclub security and police
Brook Park OH June 12 2022
An intoxicated Cleveland man, 25, was arrested at about 3 a.m. May 26 after he caused a disturbance outside Crazy Horse, 16600 Brookpark.
Police were called to Crazy Horse regarding a group of men who didn’t want to leave the nightclub at closing time. A security guard or guards escorted the men outside.
By the time police arrived, only the Cleveland man remained on the property. He was trying to re-enter the nightclub, first through the front door, then the back. The man threatened to fight a security guard.
Police found the man behind the nightclub. He smelled like alcohol and swayed on his feet. His speech was slurred. Police ordered the man to take his hands out of his pockets.
Police asked the man if and how he was going to leave. He said he lived “down the street” and would walk home.
Police asked the man why his friends had left him. He said he told them to leave.
As police asked the man if he had a cell phone so that he could call for a ride home, he again reached into his pockets. Police told him to remove his hands, and they grabbed one hand. They told him he was under arrest.
The man struggled with police as they tried to handcuff him. He said, “Are you serious right now?” Police took the man to the ground and placed him in handcuffs. His face near his eye was scraped in the process.
Police found a pocketknife in the man’s pocket. They took him to jail, where they cleaned and bandaged the abrasion on his face.
