Colorado Springs Security Officer Disarmed-Shots Fired
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. June 4 2022 Colorado Springs police are investigating a robbery, and assault where a security officer was disarmed which led to a shooting just after 8 p.m. Thursday.
The shooting happened near Cheyenne Boulevard and South Nevada Avenue. This led to a shelter-in-place for an area of south of downtown Colorado Springs Thursday night.
Officers say a security guard working at a local business had “confronted an adult Caucasian male who entered the business rambling”. The two reportedly got into a physical altercation when police say the suspect took the security guard’s gun and ran. The security guard reportedly chased the suspect when the suspect fired “multiple shots” at the security officer.
The security officer was not injured.
The Colorado Springs police are investigating the incident.
