Convicted felon points gun at Southridge Mall security
GREENDALE WI June 10 2018– A Milwaukee man is facing one felony charge after pointing a handgun at a security guard in Greendale’s Southridge Mall.
Eric J. Goad, 31, a convicted felon, pointed the gun at the security officer after he was stopped twice for using profane language May 3, according to a Greendale Police Department report released June 8.
After being stopped the second time by the same guard and being told to leave the mall, Goad removed a turquoise handgun from his waistband. With the gun on the officer, Goad said, “You want some?” and then walked away to his vehicle, according to the report.
Greenfield police later caught up with Goad and made the arrest. He has been charged with felony possession of a firearm and a misdemeanor count of pointing a firearm at a person.
Goad is not allowed to possess a firearm because he was convicted in 2007 of two counts each of driving a vehicle without consent and arson to property other than a building — all felonies.
After being placed in the backseat of a squad car he “unprovoked and spontaneously made a statement outloud in the back seat stating that he can’t believe he was this stupid,” the report said.
