Cordele Police Department Patrol Commander Capt. Jalon Heard said police are aware of gang presence in Crisp County and admitted it is a reality.
Heard said he wants parents to take action.
“Get involved in your child’s life. Know what your child is doing. Just try to get them out of that lifestyle, that gang lifestyle and not let them influence your child’s behavior,” Heard said.
Heard said Facebook posts showing “lots of guns,” drugs and gang paraphernalia helped them identify the teen.
The investigation was started because of multiple entering auto reports spanning over the past few weeks. The juvenile was not actively attending school, according to Heard.
