Coronado Center security team adds a new four legged member
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M May 28 2018Â Coronado Center is beefing up security.
A 2-year-old K-9 patrol dog named “Reno” was introduced Friday.
The German Shepard is part of the shopping center’s public security program to help ensure a safe, but welcoming environment for the community.
“We train our dogs to be very social so they can be pet by people. They’re very approachable. They’re very friendly, but he’s still a certified dual purpose patrol and detection dog,” K-9 officer Nathan Beckstrand said.
GGP, which owns Coronado Center, introduced its patrol dog program in 2010. Reno is the 11th dog to participate.
