Coronado mall placed on lockdown during arrest
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. April 14 2021 — Coronado mall and Dick’s Sporting Goods were placed on lockdown Sunday afternoon as police tried to apprehend a suspect in a stolen vehicle.
Rebecca Atkins, an Albuquerque police spokeswoman, said the man refused to exit the car and at one point started to ram other cars in the mall parking lot before he was arrested.
Police temporarily placed the mall and the sporting goods store on lockdown, restricting people from leaving as a safety measure.
KOAT-TV reported the lockdown was lifted at about 4:15 p.m.
