CVS LP Agent sentenced to 4 years in prison for sexually assaulting shoplifters
Brooklyn NY June 27 2018 A former Brooklyn security guard was sentenced Tuesday to four years in prison for coercing alleged teen shoplifters into letting him grope them and photograph them nude instead of calling the cops.
Jose Ramos admitted that from November 2016 until April 2017, he got three teenage girls, between 15 and 16, and a 28-year-old woman to pose nude on his cell phone in exchange for him not having them arrested at the drug stores where he worked.
“This defendant abused his authority as a security guard to intimidate, terrorize and violate the young victims physically and emotionally,” said Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez.
Ramos, 30, a married father of three, pleaded guilty in April to charges of forcible touching and use of a child in a sexual performance. Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Evelyn LaPorte sentenced Ramos on Tuesday to serve up to four years in prison.
The alleged petty thieves were caught by Ramos, who worked as a security guard at two CVS Pharmacy locations in Kensington and Bensonhurst. The guard took his victims into secluded areas of the store to negotiate his sick scheme, and he then had them pose as he groped and photographed them, prosecutors said.
Afterward, Ramos looked at the images and made the victims sign non-disclosure agreements saying they would not report him to the police. After the documents were signed, Ramos allowed his victims to leave.
The 28-year-old woman signed the document and immediately reported Ramos to the police. That led to the younger victims coming forward.
