Warrenton VA Aug 3 2017 Early Wednesday morning, authorities arrested Bernard Clark Duse, Jr., 76, in the homicide of Rex Olsen, 64, the manager of a Warrenton CVS, according to a news release.
Olsen, a Reva resident, was found dead about 10:35 p.m. July 26 near a dumpster on the side of the store on Blackwell Drive. He had been shot.
Duse, a resident of Groveton Street in the Alexandria area of Fairfax County, was an employee at the CVS pharmacy. Olsen was his supervisor, according to the release from the office of James Fisher, Fauquier County’s Commonwealth’s Attorney.
Duse has been charged with first-degree murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of murder, the release states.
The Warrenton Police Department coordinated the investigation, in which the Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney joined, along with the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office, the Virginia State Police, the Fairfax County Police Department and the U.S. Marshall’s Service.
“I would like to thank all of the participants who worked diligently to get us to this point,” said Chief Lou Battle of the Warrenton Police Department in the release. “The last week has been filled with many sleepless nights on the part of a lot of law enforcement personnel who have worked overtime to make a prompt arrest of the alleged perpetrator in this matter, and I think I speak for a lot of people when I say we are grateful for their dedicated service.”
A hearing date for Duse has not been set.
