Dallas security officer fires at man who wounded another person

A man suffered a gunshot wound early Sunday in Far North Dallas, police say and a private security guard shot at the alleged armed man.
Dallas police responded to the shooting about 1 a.m. in the 13300 block of Esperanza Road, near I-635 and North Central Expressway.
The victim, whose name was not released, told authorities he did not know who had shot him, police say.
Before authorities arrived, police say the victim had alerted a nearby security guard who then fired toward the person who had wounded the man.
The victim was taken to a local hospital with wounds that were not believed to be life-threatening, police say.
It does not appear that the security guard wounded the suspect in the original shooting.
Police did not provide further details about the case.
