Dayton security officer attacked-knocked unconscious
DAYTON OH Aug 31 2019 — Police and EMS responded to assist a security officer who was assaulted tonight, and knocked unconscious.
Officers were called around 10:45 p.m. to the corner of North Wilkinson at West Third streets, outside the YWCA shelter.
The assault originally was reported as a possible stabbing, but police on scene said the security guard was punched in the face by another man.
Police said that the man had fled prior to their arrival and that they searched the area.
According to reports, the suspect was carrying a backpack and fled toward Ludlow Street.
It’s not clear what caused the disturbance or whether the assailant was arrested.
The extent of the security officer’s injuries have not been disclosed.
