Delaware County community honors life of 15-year-old lifeguard who died while working

Ethan Joner was a lifeguard at Folcroft Swim Club and was going to be a sophomore at Academy Park High School.
But now, the Folcroft Borough and Southeast Delco School District communities are in mourning after the local teenager’s untimely death.
He was just 15 years old.
Joner died on July 13 while working as a lifeguard at the Folcroft Swim Club, according to the Delaware County Daily Times.
His cause of death has not been revealed.
According to Joner’s obituary, his is survived by his parents Peter Joner and Leigh Daly Joner; siblings Morgan, Cassidy, and Brady Joner; as well as grandparents, aunts, uncles cousins, and more.
The Pennsylvania community came together Saturday night to honor that teenage lifeguard.
On Saturday morning, the club hosted a Christmas Toy Drive for the Fostering Hope Foundation, which helps support foster families in the area.
All toys from the drive will be delivered in Joner’s honor, officials say.
Joner was a rising 10th grader at Academy Park High School in Sharon Hill.
The cause of his death has not been released.
