Ejected from concert, man fires shots at security and injures woman
DEKALB, Texas Sept 24 2019 A man is in custody after firing into a crowd on Sunday night.
Pedro Alarcon-Sepulveda is accused of firing at least eight shots outside of an East Texas arena. He is charged with aggravated assault.
Deputies got the call to the 1200 block of Farm to Market 922. Upon arrival, they found a woman, Saleni Rojas Duran, with a single gunshot wound to the chest. She was sent to a hospital by helicopter for treatment.
According to the Bowie County Sheriff’s Office, a security guard had to forcibly remove Alarcon-Sepulveda from the event at the arena. That’s when allegedly Alarcon-Sepulveda went to his vehicle, drove back through the area and called out to the security guard, aiming a gun at him.
Several shots were fired, one striking Duran. Then Alarcon-Sepulveda left the area. The security guard was not hit by gunfire.
“I saw this man who was shooting, and I ran to a door that’s over there and I heard another gunshot,” said 13-year-old Sebastian Flores. “So it’s kind of frightening, yeah.”
Alarcon-Sepulveda was pulled over and then taken into custody. He was sent to the Bi-State Jail.
