Ex-LMPD officer pleads guilty in security company work-fraud scheme
LOUISVILLE, Ky. July 9 2022
A Louisville Metro police officer has admitted to setting up a work-fraud scheme.
Jackie Miller pleaded guilty Thursday to theft by deception.
In 2018, he created a private security company, which he and other officers worked for while also on the clock for LMPD.
Then, in 2019, he and five other officers were indicted.
Miller received a 3-year sentence for the crime, but he won’t go to prison as long as he stays out of trouble for the next two years. He also agreed to resign from LMPD and surrender his law enforcement license.
Four other LMPD officers accepted plea deals: Ashley Spratt, Roniqua Yocum, Dontae Booker and Cortez Ernest.
LMPD said Spratt and Yocum returned to active duty. Booker is on military leave and Ernest resigned in February.
