Fake Lake Superior College security officer pulling people over in Duluth
DULUTH, MN November 7 2019 Duluth Police are investigating after a women filed a report saying she believes she was pulled over by someone allegedly impersonating campus security.
The incident happened last Wednesday night on Trinity Road between Arlington Avenue and Piedmont Avenue.
The man claimed that he was with campus security at Lake Superior College, the woman told police.
The woman said the man suspected that she was on her phone while driving.
Police aren’t sure why the supposed campus security officer eventually left the scene.
According to the report, the man was wearing a uniform with a State Trooper style hat. He is believed to be in his mid-20’s.
His vehicle is described as being rounder like a Ford Edge, and dark in color. The car reportedly had police lights on top and in the cab of the car.
According to the report, the woman couldn’t see whether the person’s car had official decals on it because of falling rain.
Police reached out to Lake Superior College officials who said the officer is not with the college.
Duluth Police say that they haven’t received any other reports about the matter.
Officials from Lake Superior College say that campus security doesn’t have the authority to pull anyone over outside of campus.
The College has one security car on its main campus.
It’s silver in color with a ‘Lake Superior College Security’ decal on the side.
