Fatality reported at TN Bonnaroo Festival
MANCHESTER TN June 9 2018Â Â – A Bonnaroo attendee was found dead on Friday morning on the festival grounds, Coffee County EMS officials said.
The person, whose identity was not immediately known, was discovered in the camping portion of the venue, first-responders confirmed.
Coffee County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lucky Knott said the cause of death remains under investigation but foul play is not suspected.
It is the only known fatality so far at the festival, authorities said.
So far, authorities say dozens of people have been either treated or transported by ambulance to local hospitals to be treated for heat-related issues at the festival.
A high of 94 is expected in Manchester on Friday. Highs in the upper 80s and low 90s are expected during the next three days of the festival.
First responders reminded festival attendees to hydrate and wear hats if possible.
