Father arrested after Rivers Casino security find small children left in a car

Security officers patrolling the Rivers Casino in Des Plaines spotted two small children who had been left alone in a vehicle in the parking lot.
Security began investigating and found that the children, age 3- and 5-year-old had been locked inside the vehicle while their father went inside to gamble.
Police were notified and located the Chicago man identified as Esteban Meraz, 38, of the 7000 block of West Diversey Avenue.
He was arrested Sunday afternoon and charged with two counts of endangering the life or health of a child, according to police.
