Father charged after toddler unknowingly brings gun to preschool
San Antonio TX August 18, 2023 A father was arrested Tuesday after his 3-year-old son brought a gun in a backpack to his Texas preschool.
Pete Robles, 35, was charged with felony child endangerment after his child brought a gun in a backpack to the Pre-K 4 SA West Education Center in San Antonio.
The child was unaware of the firearm in the backpack, the school said in a news release. A teacher at the school confiscated the gun and notified the police of the incident.
The 3-year-old was placed under protective custody with Child Protective Services, according to officials.
The school has now temporarily suspended the use of backpacks on their campus.
Any item that a child needs to bring to school should be placed in a clear Ziplock bag.
