Female Security Guard Killed In St Thomas
St Thomas Feb 25 2018 There was traffic mayhem along the Pondside main road in St Thomas this morning as police investigators conducted a probe into the murder of a woman along the roadway.
She has been identified as 36-year-old security guard Jahleet Jeffery, a resident of the community.
Reports are that about 5:15 this morning Jeffery, who was on her way to work, was being accompanied to the main road by her boyfriend who is an armed security guard.
Upon reaching the intersection of the lane and the main road, a man allegedly jumped from nearby bushes and opened fire at the two.
Reports are that the male companion returned fire while chasing the attacker who escaped.
It was later discovered that Jeffery sustained multiple gunshots.
She died on the spot.
The main road was cordoned off by the police resulting in a traffic pile up in both directions which affected doctors from the Princess Margaret Hospital who were on their way to work.
