Fire rescue commander joins Jensen Beach-based private security company
JENSEN BEACH FL Sept 18 2018 — NES Private Security is adding a new layer of service to its team of private security officers.
Brian Brown, battalion commander for a south Florida Fire Rescue department, will head up NES’s First Responder division.
The 44-year-old Brown has worked as a firefighter/paramedic for the past 17 years.
Prior to being promoted to battalion commander five and a half years ago, Brown served as the fire rescue’s chief of emergency medical services for almost six years.
He is currently working with NES Managing Director Jon Dadko to build a team of trained and licensed security officers who are also certified EMTs.
“Brian is bringing first responder skills and management experience in fire rescue to NES,” Dadko said. “Most of our security officers can perform basic CPR if needed. We like to include this as part of their certification training, but Brian’s expertise will take us to another level.”
For NES clients, having an EMT providing security means extra peace of mind should a medical emergency arise. For example, a high-level executive who is diabetic may be concentrating on work so much he forgets to eat at regular intervals.
The EMS-trained officer can recognize the signs of low blood sugar and respond in the precious few minutes it takes to go into diabetic shock, which can lead to unconsciousness or a comatose state.
NES Private Security, headquartered in Jensen Beach, has been providing private security services to the Treasure Coast and South Florida since 2010.
From event staffing to armed personal escorts, as well as private investigation services, NES officers undergo customized training in addition to state of Florida certification education. Officers are former military, law enforcement or specially trained in the security field.
