Firefighter arrested on charges of assault of Captain Hiram’s Resort security personnel
SEBASTIAN, Florida July 11 2018– A man threatened security personnel “You want some, come on, I’m a firefighter” at Captain Hiram’s Resort, according to the Sebastian Police Department.
Joshua James Robberts, who’s a firefighter for the City of West Palm Beach, was arrested and charged with Disorderly Intoxication and Assault.
According to the report, police were called by Captain Hiram’s security on Saturday at 12:25 a.m. about a disturbance in the resort.
“Upon arrival, the defendant was being uncooperative and had a heavy odor of alcohol emitting from his breath, the officer said.
Security told police that Robberts was asked to “quiet down” several times and to stay in his room after receiving complaints from multiple guests.
Later in the night, Robberts left his room again and ended up downstairs where he made a fist in a threatening manner while holding a beer bottle in the other hand, the affidavit said.
Security said the West Palm Beach Firefighter moved towards them and said, “You want some, come on, I’m a firefighter,” before being sprayed with pepper spray.
Robberts was released after posting $1,000 bond.
