Florida man charged after kicking Universal Walk security guard and using racial slurs
Orlando FL November 13 2018 A 22-year-old Naples man is facing criminal charges after he was charged with kicking a security guard and using the N-word during a drunken scene at Universal CityWalk earlier this month.
Matthew Buckley is charged with battery on a security officer, a felony, and disorderly intoxication, according to Orange Circuit Court records.
He was arrested Nov. 4 after a Universal Studios security received a call of Buckley running at CityWalk, an arrest affidavit said.
“Buckley had ran and fell down some stairs,” the affidavit said.
The 24-year-old security guard asked Buckley why he was running. “F— you!” Buckley answered, according to the affidavit.
Buckley began crawling toward the security guard, still shouting profanities, and then kicked him twice in the shin.
He stood up and shouted in the guard’s face that he was a “scared” N-word, the arrest affidavit said.
The security guard’s supervisors arrived to help subdue Buckley until police responded.
Another security guard said he witnessed Buckley “raise his fist in a fighting stance” as he yelled at the Universal employee.
Buckley, whose breath smelled of alcohol, later told authorities he did not remember what happened. He was “belligerent and continued to be disorderly and disruptive towards law enforcement,” the affidavit said.
He was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Buckley’s attorney and Universal did not immediately return messages back for comment Monday.
