Tallahassee Florida Aug 2 2018
A brazen security guard who was spotted stealing more than $3000 electronics from a Florida Walmart has now been arrested.
As earlier reported, the armed security guard who was in full uniform, entered the Walmart on Mahan Drive, and immediately began loading up a shopping cart with electronics.
The Leon County Sheriff’s Office arrested 27-year-old Jamaal Montague Tuesday.
He is a licensed unarmed security guard who was unemployed at the time he was seen on video pushing a shopping cart around the Walmart store.
He can be seen in a surveillance video loading a cooler with more than $3,000 in electronics, then leaving through the garden center on July 17.
He is seen pulling the cooler over the fence with the help of an accomplice.
Montague is charged with grand theft, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and dealing in stolen property.
The sheriff’s department is still looking for at least one other person involved in the theft.
