Florida security officer on the way to work killed in crash
Ocala FL July 16 2018 Security officers Brian Scott Oliver, 54, of Ocala, was on his way to work when he was involved in an accident.
He died in that single-vehicle crash Thursday night according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers said Oliver, driving an older model Chevy Trailblazer, was eastbound on County Road 326. For an unknown reason, the vehicle veered off the roadway, struck a wooden utility pole, and into a ditch.
The vehicle then overturned, ejecting Oliver. The SUV then struck two broad fences and landed on its roof in a pasture, troopers said.
Oliver was not wearing his seat belt.
The wreck, which disrupted power service for hundreds of people, occurred in the 10500 block of CR 326. Troopers said SECO officials repaired the pole and restored power to all customers.
